Brett rejoins the Wilmington Sharks as General Manager, returning to the team he played for in 2008 as a left-handed pitcher. Since his time with the Sharks, Brett earned degrees from Appalachian State University and the University of Florida. His diverse professional background includes a distinguished 12-year career as an Intelligence Officer in the United States Navy, a consultant at a Big Four firm and various leadership positions across multiple industries.

Now back in Wilmington, Brett is excited to guide the Sharks organization, focusing on strengthening community relationships through engaging experiences and partnerships. His enthusiasm for sports is shared with his wife Anne, a former tennis player at the University of Oklahoma, and three children: Kiptyn, Carter and Cameron. Beyond the realm of sports, the Bloomquist’s enjoy exploring Wilmington and diverse attractions across North Carolina.

Taking the role of Director of Operations in January of 2024, Chris is all set to dive into the Sharks’ vibrant world. Wilmington stole Chris’s heart in 2020, and despite Covid-induced delays, work drew him back permanently in 2021, cementing his love for the city.

With a background spanning 23 years in the Hospitality industry, Chris stands as a seasoned professional, drawing inspiration from peers he has worked alongside across the country in the live event sector.

Expect to spot Chris at Sharks games, eager to absorb the electric atmosphere and engage with the community. When not at the ballpark, Chris, alongside his partner Brae, enjoys the company of their 11 animals, delving into the Rico Brogna Podcast to keep up with his NY Mets from afar and working on projects at their new home.

Chris’s commitment to top-tier operations and passion for fostering community connections promise to take the Sharks’ experience to unprecedented levels.

Kyle is joining the Wilmington Sharks after years away from the game of baseball following previous experience working for the Cedar Rapids Kernels, Clearwater Phillies, and Tampa Bay Devil Rays.  He grew up in the Midwest, has lived in several states across the country, and holds Bachelor degrees from the University of Iowa in Communications Studies and History, as well as a Master’s degree in Diplomatic History from Western Illinois University.

He plans to be very accessible to the Sharks fan base and much excited to join the front office staff after a move to the Wilmington area came about in 2021 in an effort to join the rest of his family in North Carolina as ‘transplants’ now living in the local community and spends his free time with family and enjoying the beach life, IndyCar Racing, and ‘live’ music.
