Held hitless through five innings, the Sharks scored runs in back to back frames but could do no more as they fell to Wilson 5-2 Thursday night at Fleming Stadium.

Wilson touched up starter J.C. Casey(Missouri State) for a run in the first. A bunt single by Bobby Leeper followed by a triple to the right field corner put the Tobs up 1-0. The Tobs picked up two more off of Casey in the second thanks to a three singles an error and a pass ball.

Greg Bachman(Austin Peay) singled to start the fifth and pick up the first Sharks run. Allen King(UNC-Wilmington)doubled him to third, then Bachman came home on a Curt Courtwright(Missouri State) sac fly to make it 4-1.

Still trailing 4-1 in the sixth Christian Overstreet(Missouri State) tripled to center field to lead off the frame. Another Seahawk came up big for the Sharks as Michael Rooney(UNC-Wilmington) doubled to left to allow Overstreet to walk home and cut the deficit to 4-2.

Casey left after six innings giving up four runs, two earned, on eight hits, while striking out five. Garrett Cooper(St. Louis) came on in relief, loaded the bases in the seventh but rolled up a 4-6-3 double play to keep the Tobs at bay. Sean Toler(Missouri State) allowed a single run in the eighth. Bachman doubled to lead off the final frame but the Sharks could not scratch across any more.

The Sharks fall to 10-15 on the season and are 1-5 against the Wilson Tobs this season.
