John Raynor, a native of Four Oaks, N.C., was a standout for both the Sharks and Seahawks during his baseball days in Wilmington before being drafted in the 9th round of the 2006 June Draft.  Now a starting left fielder for the Carolina Mudcats, Raynor has had a solid season thus far, hitting .289 with five home runs and 19 RBIs in 42 games.  His best season so far in the Florida Marlins system was with Greensboro in 2007 where Raynor finished with a .333 average, pounding out 13 home runs, and driving in 57 runs.  Raynor also showed a prowess on the base paths by stealing 54 bases, only being caught eight times.

Also playing in the Florida Marlins system is Kinston, N.C. native Chris Hatcher of the Jupiter Hammerheads in the Class A Advanced Florida State League.  So far, Hatcher has seen limited action in the 2008 campaign playing in 18 games, hitting one home run and driving in nine.  He is currently on the disabled list.  He had a very productive 2007 season with Greensboro playing in 102 games, hitting 15 homers and driving in 50, while scoring another 62.

Jeff Moore, a 6-1, 195-pound right-handed pitcher is currently pitching in the Class A Advanced Carolina League with the Frederick Keys.  He’s split time between the Keys and Delmarva Shorebirds of the South Atlantic League.  So far with Frederick, he’s appeared in 10 games, starting one, throwing 16 innings and posting an 0-1 record with a 3.94 ERA.  Opponents are only hitting .246 against him.  The Frederick Keys are an affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles.
