Seven days ago centerfielder Adam Eggemeyer became designated hitter Adam Eggemeyer. Soreness and pain in his throwing shoulder took him out of the Sharks defensive line-up as he searches for a solution to his arm troubles. But arm troubles seem to be his only troubles. The tough Steeleville, Illinois native would not let the arm soreness keep him from the line-up completely however. Starting with the very next game after Eggemeyer was pulled from his spot in center field he has been on an offensive tear. Racking up 13 hits in 22 plate appearances, Eggemeyer has bolstered his average to a league high .451 on the season. During this explosive stretch for the left hander out of SIU-Edwardsville, he has notched three home runs, driven in nine runs, scored nine times and reached 23 total bases. After a rough night in his first game as a DH, Eggemeyer is reported to have remarked, "I'm a DH, all I have to do is hit, and I can't even do that." It seems now he has found a way. Join the Sharks out at the "Shark Tank" for more action coming up Thursday night against the Florence Redwolves. It's another Thirsty Thursday presented by Front Street Brewery. Come out and enjoy one dollar beer and soft drinks all night long. Gates open at 6.pm. and the game starts at 7. The Wilmington Sharks are members of the summer collegiate Coastal Plain League, the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league. In 2008 the Sharks drew more than 50,000 fans to the “Shark Tank” for an average of 1,650 per game.
