With a win tonight in the last game of the half number one, the Sharks can seal a winning record against one divisional foe in the first half.

Losers of nine of their last ten headed into the contest, the Sharks have a 3-2 edge through the first five games against the Blowfish, but have yet to win at Capitol City Stadium.

For the Sharks, Daniel Cropper, the last Wilmington pitcher to get a win, will make his road debut on the mound in Columbia.

Cropper, with his overall record of 2-1, is 1-0 against the Blowfish in two starts. the UNCW right hander has allowed just two runs over 11 innings to the 'Fish, holding them to a .179 average with 12 strike outs.

It will be two home games then a long road trip to Asheboro this week as the Sharks open up their assault on the second half of 2009.

The Sharks next home game will be another "Two for Tuesday" against the Columbia Blowfish. The game starts at 7 p.m. with the gates opening at 6 p.m. Enjoy two for one tickets as well as two for one hot dogs at the "Shark Tank" all night long.

The Wilmington Sharks are members of the summer collegiate Coastal Plain League, the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league. In 2008 the Sharks drew more than 50,000 fans to the “Shark Tank” for an average of 1,650 per game.
