The Wilmington Sharks have named East Carolina junior Stephen Batts as their "Hiro of the Year".  Batts earned this distinction by leading the Sharks in almost every offensive catagory this season.  He led the team with a .341 batting average, while also leading the team in hits, doubles, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, runs scored, and tying for the lead in RBI.  Batts, who finished his second season as the Sharks starting third baseman, was also named to the Coastal Plain League All-Star game in Columbia, SC.
