The Sharks lack of offense once again turned a strong pitching performance into a loss on Monday night in New Bern. The River Rats pieced together four runs and that proved to be enough for the win as The Sharks crossed home plate only once. Alex MacKenzie had another solid outing for the Sharks, going six strong innings as the starter, but his lack of support proved too much to overcome. The lone bright spot on offense was Nate Recknagel, who was making his first start in a Sharks uniform. Recknagel recently joined the team from the University of Michigan.
