Sharks to Host Boy Scouts Ballpark Campout Print E-mail

The Wilmington Sharks will be hosting a campout for Boy Scouts on Saturday, May 30 at the Buck Hardee Field at Legion Stadium. The event will be held after the Sharks home game against the Fayetteville SwampDogs; gates open at 6 p.m. and the game starts at 7:05 p.m. For $11, Boy Scouts will receive a ticket, hot dog, chips, and Scout Patch. There will be fireworks immediately following the game after which the Scouts are invited to stay and camp out in the outfield. A baseball movie will be shown and breakfast will be served Sunday morning.

The Wilmington Sharks are members of the summer collegiate Coastal Plain League, the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league. In 2008 the Sharks drew more than 50,000 fans to the “Shark Tank” for an average of 1,650 per game. Game time is at 7p.m. and gates open at 6p.m. The first 1,000 fans will receive Sharks magnet schedules presented by Project Assist and QuitlineNC.com. It is also Thirsty Thursday presented by Front Street Brewery; $1 beer and $1 sodas.
