Wicked weather in Florence stalled Wednesday's game between the Sharks and Redwolves with one down in the bottom of the sixth inning. But the Sharks hit early and often to take a 10-7 win.

Wilmington jumped on the board quickly with two in the top of the first. With Ben Kline and Adam Eggemeyer on via a fielders choice and single, St. Bonaventure's Jesse Bosnik drove home the Husker Kline. After taking a strike from 'Wolves starter Todd Miller, Drew Wingo drove in a second run with a liner to left.

After the Redwolves took a 3-2 lead in in the bottom half of the second the Sharks jumped back on top sending 11 to the plate to take a 8-3 lead. Back to back singles by Kline and St. Louis University junior Andrew Guerra set the table for Eggemeyer, the leagues leading hitter. The SIU-Edwardsville product would not dissapoint planting a ball deep over the high right field wall for three run homer.

Hits continued to fly off the Wilmington bats as, with one down, a single from Austin Peay's Greg Bachman put runners on the corners. Adam Gray, making his first appearance at first base this season, drove a single to right to make it 6-3 with still just one down in the third. A sac fly off the bat of Curt Courtwright brought home a seventh shark run before Guerra picked up his second hit of the inning driving in the Sharks final run of the six run assault in the third.

After six Sharks errors contributed to three runs for the Redwolves the score stood at 8-6 after five. Wilmington snagged two back then in the sixth thanks to a Bosnik RBI double.

Starter Ryne Harper would leave the game after five giving up two earned runs on the night on seven Florence hits walking four and striking out three. Campbell lefty Hunter Ford came on in relief just as lighting began to flash all around American Legion Field.

The Redwolves left runners at second and third with one down in the sixth inning, before a delay of more than an hour ended in the umpires calling the contest.
