In an unusual four game weekend set, the Sharks split a weekend series with the New Bern River Rats.  On Saturday in Wilmington, the River Rats jumped out to a 7-1 lead and held on despite the Sharks rally, winning 9-6.  Game two saw the Sharks once again mount a late inning comeback with a Greg Ihlenburg 2 run double that scored the game tying and go ahead runs.

Sunday saw the Sharks take game 1 behind a masterful pitching performance by Mike Powers.  In game 2, New Bern's Chris Gloor continued his domination of the Coastal Plain League by shutting down the Sharks in a 4-1 decision.

The Sharks are back in action Tuesday night against the Fayetteville Swampdogs. The first game will see the Sharks and 'Dogs pick up where they l left off in a rain delay.  Upon the completion of the first game the two teams will play another 7 inning contest.
