Wilmington, N.C. – The Wilmington Sharks announce today that they have signed three more players for the 2007 season. Pitcher Kevin Light and short stop Frank Berry from Longwood University as well as pitcher Seth Laughter from Brevard College will play for the Sharks this season.
Frank Berry, a 6-3 freshman, plays short stop for Longwood University. He is from Virginia Beach, VA. where he played for First Colonial High School. Longwood’s Coach Bolding says “Frank probably brings the most impressive baseball package to Longwood of all rookies. He can field, hit, and throw. He will start at SS and hit second. With hard work, he could become a future Lancer great.” Seth Laughter, 6-2/180, is a pitcher for Brevard College. He is a sophomore and is from Fletcher, NC. The Wilmington Sharks are pleased to have him on the team this season. The coastal plain league is the nation’s premier college summer baseball league, featuring 14 teams playing in three states (The Carolinas and Virginia). The league is certified by the NCAA and Major League Baseball, and gives college standouts the chance to refine their skills with wooden bats during the summer months. The CPL brings fans all of the fun of minor league baseball during a 56 schedule game June through August. Tickets for the 2007 season are now on sale at the Shark’s office.
