Wilmington, NC – The Wilmington Sharks of the Costal Plain League have named Blaine Smith as the team’s new General Manager. Smith, a graduate of North Carolina State University, has worked with USA Baseball, Major League Baseball’s Arizona Fall League, and most recently as the Assistant General Manager of the Sarasota Reds, the single-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. “I am looking forward to this challenge,” said Smith. “I think Wilmington is a great town for baseball and I hope to use my knowledge and experience to add to what the Sharks have already been able to do in the community.” The Sharks have also named Chris Reavis as the Director of Sales and Marketing. Reavis, a Yadkinville native and UNC-W graduate, has worked with the Sharks for three seasons. The Wilmington Sharks are a member of the Coastal Plain League, the largest wooden bat collegiate summer baseball league in America.
