In an exciting game in Spartanburg, the Sharks pounded out 9 hits, albeit in a losing cause. The Sharks jumped out to a 2-0 lead early, only to give up 5 runs in the third. Later in the game Wilmington evened the score at 5. The score remained in a tie until a 2 out double to the wall scored the winning run for the Stingers.
"My hat's off to our guys," said Sharks' head coach Andrew Wright. "I am proud of the intensity they showed and I also saw something that is going to make for a great summer, they refused to quit. I love our team and I am confident that if we play that hard every night, we will win a lot of games."
The Sharks are back in action Tuesday at Gastonia for a 1:05 PM start. Brevard College sophomore Seth Laughter will get the start for the Sharks.
