During the week of July 6_ 11, the Wilmington Sharks will be hosting Green Week presented by Tidal Creek Cooperative Market. The Sharks have games scheduled on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday that will be supporting Eco-Friendly behavior. On Monday, July 6th, we will be hosting “Recycle Your Phonebook Night” presented by the AT&T Real Yellow Pages as the Sharks take on the Fayetteville Swampdogs. The Sharks encourage fans to bring old phonebooks to the park and they will be recycled them. Plus its another “Mother’s Monday,” kids can eat free with paid admission while adults enjoy all you can eat for $10. Also, Mom’s will be receiving great treats all night long courtesy of North Chase Spalon. On Thursday, July 9th , the Sharks will host the Peninsula Pilots and fans can enjoy “Summertime St. Patty’s Day” at the Shark Tank. We will be serving green draft beers for an unbeatable $1 for “Thirsty Thursday”, presented by Front Street Brewery. Be sure to catch the shuttle from the Brewery to the ballpark starting at 6 p.m. running all night long courtesy of Wilmington Trolley Company. On Saturday, July 11th the Sharks will be hosting Wave Transit Alternative Transportation Night along with the Wilson Tobs. In an effort to demonstrate the importance of public transportation, while improving the environment for the citizens of Wilmington, The Cape Fear Public Transportation Authority will be sponsoring the 3rd Annual Alternative Transportation Day. All citizens are encouraged to ride public transportation to see many of Wilmington’s attractions, while also enjoying a Wilmington Sharks baseball game. Fans can receive free transportation to the Sharks game by parking their vehicles at Independence Mall and riding the Wave Transit buses. In addition, fans who choose to take the Wave Transit buses to the game that night will receive FREE admission to the game. Buses will start running at 5:45PM, and will continue until approximately 10 pm, or until all fans have returned to their vehicles. The Wilmington Sharks are members of the summer collegiate Coastal Plain League, the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league. In 2008 the Sharks drew more than 50,000 fans to the “Shark Tank” for an average of 1,650 per game.
