Three runs in the ninth sent the game to extras Tuesday night but the Sharks could go no further as they fell 5-3 in eleven to the Columbia Blowfish. Trailing 3-1 in the ninth the Sharks got a lead walk from Michael Rooney(UNC-Wilmington), a double from Adam Eggemeyer(SIU-Edwardsville) and an RBI single from Jesse Bosnik(St. Bonaventure) to pull to within one. A double play ground ball brought the tying run home but squashed any further rally. Ryne Harper(Austin Peay) gave up just an earned run as he struck out eight through seven strong innings. Ryan McGrath(Wake Forest) gave up two runs in the 11th to pick up the loss and send the Sharks to an 0-1 second half start. Held scoreless until the eighth, The Sharks would load the bases on three straight singles with no one down. However, the Sharks would again score only one run as Andrew Guerra(St. Louis) came home on a Drew Wingo(Presbyterian) single. The RBI came just before Columbia's second of three double plays on the night. The Sharks will be back home tomorrow night taking on the Florence Redwolves.
