A 22 inning scoreless stretch came to an end against the Tobs in the third inning, but that proved to be the only Wilmington tally of the night as they fell for the fourth straight game, 4-1 in Wilson. In the third Allen King(UNC-Wilmington) reached on a throwing error and ended up on second base. Curt Courtwright(Missouri State) singled King over to third and the catcher came home as Alex Hill(UNC-Wilmington) beat out the back end of a possible double play ball to make it 2-1 Tobs. Starter J.C. Casey(Missouri State) threw six innings, giving up four runs on seven hits, taking his first loss on the season. A lead triple from the first batter of the game came in to score as the first of two in the first for Wilson. The right hander struck out two, issued one walk and hit two batters. The Shark's second hit of the night was a double off the bat of Adam Eggemeyer(SIU-Edwardsville) to lead off the seventh, but he would be stranded at third as the Sharks could not notch another base hit. Hunter Ford(Campbell) came on in relief for Wilmington, throwing two scoreless frames, walking one and hitting one. It will be another Post-Game Fireworks Extravaganza at the "Shark Tank" Saturday. Come out and watch the Sharks take on the Tobs for the second straight night at 7 p.m. The fireworks show will start immediately following the game. Come for the baseball, stay for some explosive family fun. The Wilmington Sharks are members of the summer collegiate Coastal Plain League, the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league. In 2008 the Sharks drew more than 50,000 fans to the “Shark Tank” for an average of 1,650 per game.
