Sharks Announce 2007 Schedule |

The Wilmington Sharks released the 2007 Coastal Plain Leagues schedule today. Entering their eleventh season in the port city, the Sharks will begin play on Thursday, May 31st. This will be the first of eight, Thirsty Thursday Party in the Park s for the Sharks this season. The Sharks will also feature numerous weekend games in the 2007 season while wrapping up the regular season on Wednesday, August 7th. Other key dates for the 2007 season will include the 2007 CPL All-Star Fan Fest and Game on July 16th and 17th, and then on the weekend of August 10th-12th, will be the 2007 Coastal Plain League Petitt Cup Championship Tournament. The locations for both events will be determined and announced later this month.
The 15 teams will be broken into three divisions (North, South and West). Just like in 2006, the Sharks will once again be in the Southern Division with the same four teams, the Columbia Blowfish, the Fayetteville SwampDogs, the Florence RedWolves, and the New Bern River Rats. All together, each team will play a 56-game schedule, with a large concentration on divisional games, but like in 2006, each team will play their out-of-division opponents twice once at home and once on the road. |
