The Wilmington Sharks added an assistant to Manager Daniel Hersey’s staff with the hiring of Newberry College’s Brian Boeshko.
Boeshko is entering his third season with Newberry, coaching their hitters, baserunners, and outfielders. He served a two-year stint as a student assistant with Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky. He graduated from Union with a B.S. in Education in 2004. Boeshko played two years with St. Johns River Community College in Altamonte Springs, Florida before moving on to Murray State University. The Detroit, Michigan native currently resides in Newberry, South Carolina
“The Sharks are glad that we could bring in a coach from the Carolinas. I think that Brian's experience both as a college baseball player and now a coach will definitely help lead our club to more wins this summer,” stated Sharks GM Chris Reavis. “I hope that this is the start of a long coaching relationship between Hersey, Boeshko, and the Sharks.”
Newberry College is a 90-acre campus located in Newberry, South Carolina. Over half of the student body participates in one of their 15 competitive NCAA Division 2 sports. For more information, log onto www.newberry.edu.
