Two days without baseball. Even at the back end of a long summer of baseball that's too long of a break.

Agree or disagree, the main point is the Sharks are back in action tonight. Along with getting the Sharks back on the field, "Shark Bits" are back on a computer screen near you.

Last Game Synopsis: The Sharks and SwampDogs went extra
innings on kids day Monday. After posting a 4-1 lead behind
starter Max Friedman, the lead vanished and the game stayed
tied at 4 into the eleventh. The Sharks then blew it open
once more, scoring three times, including the go ahead run
on a squeeze bunt by Allen King to score a sliding Jesse
Bosnik.

Cropper is King: Team strike out king Daniel Cropper will try
and add to his punch out tally of 63 against Florence
tonight. The UNCW righty will take the hill with a 2.24 ERA
in ten total starts. On the year he has walked just 15 to
go with his strike out lead, while holding opponents to a
.189 batting average. Cropper faced the Redwolves once on
the season, throwing a complete eight frames on the road
allowing just three runs.

Even Steven: After ten games with the Florence Redwolves, the
Sharks have lost six and won four. With two more games left
to play including tonight, Wilmington can even the series at
six by years end. Of the divisional foes the Sharks do hold
a winning record against the Columbia Blowfish at six and
four with one more game left to play between the two clubs.

Still on the Hunt: His month of dominance continues. Lefty
Hunter Ford has gone an entire month, encompassing almost
the entire July calendar, without allowing a run. The
Campbell Camel’s run dates back to June 27th and now sits
at 10.2 innings after a perfect frame to pick up his second
save on the season Monday. Ford has allowed just four hits
over the five appearance span.

Swathed in Pink: Friday night is “Striking Out Cancer” night
out at the “Shark Tank.” The squad will be sporting
commemorative pink jerseys as they take on the Martinsville
Mustangs. Fans have the chance to get in on the cause by
bidding on the game used jerseys. Bidding will take place
online at wilmingtonsharks.com as well as throughout the
game.
