Monday marked the end of the first half, meaning everything starts fresh today.

The Sharks have lost another one run game, we'll break down what that means in the grand scheme of things as everything starts fresh today. Also, Ryne Harper, could his best outing of the year signal renewed sucess? Did we mention everything starts fresh today?

One thing that is constant, "Shark Bits" are here to educate, inform and entertain.

Last Game Synopsis: Missed chances late cost the Sharks as
they fell 3-2 in Columbia Monday night. Daniel Cropper
pitched a stellar seven innings, but a two run home run
proved to be enough to beat him as the Sharks offense could
muster little support. Cropper struck out a season high 11
batters on the night. Jesse Bosnik and Greg Bachman both
went 3-for-4 while Andrew Guerra and Michael Rooney chipped
in two out RBI knocks. The loss is the Sharks fifth in a
row but everything starts fresh today.

One is The Loneliest Way to Ever Lose: Monday’s one run loss was
the fifth this season Wilmington has dropped by a single
run. The club has won just two games by the slimmest of
margins, once at home against Columbia and once on the road
in Martinsville. In the five losses the Sharks have left a
combined total of 36 men on base. Four of the one run
losses were against division rivals in the first half, but
everything starts fresh today.

Good to be King: UNC-Wilmington’s Allen King is batting just
.175 on the season with five RBI. However, three of the RBI
have come over his last three games, a stretch that has
seen him hit .333 with three doubles. King will look to
keep things rolling as everything starts fresh today.

Harp-inger of Success: Coming off his best start of the
season, Ryne Harper will make his third straight home start
taking on the Blowfish tonight. Harper threw seven strong
innings against Gastonia giving up three runs on six hits.
He left the ball game with a lead but ended up with a no
decision. The Austin Peay righty will open up the second
half after going 1-2 in the first half, but everything
starts fresh today.

Notice A Trend?: Everything starts fresh today as the second
half brings a second chance at a division crown. First half
records mean little if the Sharks can stage a second act
victory and storm their way into the play-offs.
