A wise man once said, "Monday, Monday. Can't help that day." And he was right. For the second straight Monday rain shut down a Sharks game in progress. The Sharks and Blowfish made it through the first inning before the rains came. No team scored, the Sharks had a single hit and left a man on. For a moment it looked as if the game would get back underway, but the skies broke once again and an already damp field could take no more. The Sharks next game will be Tuesday night at 7 p.m. against the Catawba Valley Stars. Every Tuesday is "Two For Tuesday" with two for one tickets and hot dogs all night long. The gates open one hour before game time at 6 p.m. The Wilmington Sharks are members of the summer collegiate Coastal Plain League, the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league. In 2008 the Sharks drew more than 50,000 fans to the “Shark Tank” for an average of 1,650 per game.
