After waiting out the rain lThursday, a huge storm made the field at Wilson's Historic Fleming Stadium too hazardous for play Friday night, even though the rain itself did stop.

The Sharks and Tobs will meet one more time this year in Wilmington, no word yet on when Friday's rain out will be made up.

Wilmington now heads on the long road to Petersburg tomorrow to take on the Generals for the only time this season.

Wilmington won't be home until next Thursday against the Fayetteville Swampdogs. In the meantime the Sharks are hosting the 2009 CPL All-Star Game and Fan Fest Monday and Tuesday. The Fan Fest features a Home Run Derby and Charity Softball game, with the main event taking place Tuesday at 7:05.

The Wilmington Sharks are members of the summer collegiate Coastal Plain League, the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league. In 2008 the Sharks drew more than 50,000 fans to the “Shark Tank” for an average of 1,650 per game.
