A mere inning and two thirds of baseball. That's all the Sharks and SwampDogs managed to get in Monday night, as dark and electric skies domed the "Shark Tank."

Ryne Harper(Austin Peay) had retired the first six SwampDogs he faced before lightning forced the initial delay.

A crucial analysis of the weather patterns on Sharks Doppler 7000ii led to the tarp making its way onto the field under a smattering of rain and ever darkening skies until eventually the game was called.

Now word on the make-up of this game as of yet.

The Sharks next home game is coming up Thursday night. It's St. Patty's Day in July as the Sharks host another Thirsty Thursday, presented by Front Street Brewery. Come out as CPL Green Week continues for green beer, and many other types of beer and soft drinks for just one dollar.

The Wilmington Sharks are members of the summer collegiate Coastal Plain League, the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league. In 2008 the Sharks drew more than 50,000 fans to the “Shark Tank” for an average of 1,650 per game.
