In back to back nights the Sharks have played extra frames in front of the home faithful. Now the boys from Wilmington will take their second half show on the road. With a three plus hour jaunt to Asheboro today, Wilmington will get set to face off against the Copperheads for the one and only time this season. Max Friedman, the seeming road warrior for the Sharks, will be making the start at the end of the line. Friedman started another game following a long road trip for the Sharks as he threw four frames in Martinsville on June 12th. On the season Friedman has posted a 1-2 record with a 2.62 ERA as a starter in four starts with the club. He will take the hill at Asheboro's McCrary Park after starts of six and eight innings in his last two outings. A couple of Sharks are riding hot bats into the ball game tonight. UNCW Seahawk Allen King has raised his batting average to .179 on the season with hits in his last four games, including four doubles. Andrew Guerra's heroics last night gave the Sharks a win and Guerra a second multi-hit game in four days. Over the four games Guerra has also driven in five runs. Wilmington will be back at the "Shark Tank" Friday July 3rd to take on these same Florence Redwolves. Stick around after the game for an Independence Day fireworks celebration. Gates open at 6 p.m. the game starts at 7 p.m. The Wilmington Sharks are members of the summer collegiate Coastal Plain League, the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league. In 2008 the Sharks drew more than 50,000 fans to the “Shark Tank” for an average of 1,650 per game.
