The Sharks did everything they needed to pick up thier first win since the All-Star break, 5-1 in Columbia Friday night.

It was a night seemingly highlighted by Andrew Guerra(St. Louis) base hits. After his first two at bats the Texan had two hits and two RBI. The first came with two down in the first inning, a single back up the box to make it 1-0 Sharks.

Guerra stood in again with a runner on third and with two down in the third and delivered a base hit over the second base bag to make it 3-1 Sharks. Guerra tacked on another single and a double for a 4-4 night with two batted in.

Adam Schrader(SW-Minnesota State) threw seven solid innings in a strong first CPL outing back from injury. After allowing a run in the first, Schrader held the Blowfish scoreless over the next five and left with a 5-1 lead. Schrader allowed five base hits, walked one, hit a batter and struck out two.

After Schrader's six strong innings, the Sharks turned the ball over to Hunter Ford(Campbell) for three frames. The lefty allowed just two base hits and two walks holding the Blowfish down for the final nine outs. The outing extends Ford's scoreless inning streak to nine and two thirds.

Defensively the Sharks turned two huge double plays. One came behind Schrader as the Blowfish threatened in the third with the bases load. The second came with two on in the bottom of the ninth behind Ford to send the Sharks home with a win.

The Sharks will face off against the Fayetteville SwampDogs Saturday night for the final Fireworks Extravaganza of the year at the "Shark Tank." The game starts at 7 p.m. with gates opening one hour earlier at 6 p.m.
