So far in the American League Championship Series the Cleveland Indians have been getting some quality production out of middle reliever Tom Mastny.  Mastny, a member of the Coastal Plain League All-Decade team, played for the Sharks in 2002.

The Indians are known for their strong bull pen and have turned to Mastny all season as a guy who can come in and get tough outs in the later part of the game.  On Friday night in a crucial game 2 against the Boston Red Sox Mastny did just that.  In the tenth inning and the game tied at six Mastny was called on to face the heart of the Red Sox order in David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez, and Mike Lowell, a trio that had terrorized opposing pitchers throughout the playoffs.  All Mastny did was pitch a perfect inning, retiring the side in order and recording the win.  It was a big win for the indians as they were able to snatch home field advantage and head back to Cleveland with some momentum.
