Errors Set Wrong Tone, Sharks Fall Print E-mail

Wilmington made three early errors behind spot starter Garrett Cooper(St. Louis) and fell 9-0 in Fayetteville Sunday night.

Cooper was called on to start when scheduled starter Ryne Harper(Austin Peay) was scratched. The St. Louis right hander lasted just three innings allowing five runs to score on six hits.

The Sharks were held to just six hits, while only one of those came with less than two outs in an inning. Jesse Bosnik(St. Bonaventure) picked up two base hits, including a triple, to continue his hitting ways in 2009.

Tyler Andersen(Utah) and Sean Toler(Missouri State) also pitched in releief, but could not halt the SwampDog attack until nine runs had come home.

The Sharks will be on the road until next Thursday, taking on Florence for the final Thirsty Thursday of the year out at the "Shark Tank." The game starts at 7 p.m. with the gates opening at 6 p.m. enjoy dollar beers and dollar soft drinks all night long.

The Wilmington Sharks are members of the summer collegiate Coastal Plain League, the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league.
