It’s an old saying, “For a time that’s jolly, just ride the trolley!” So maybe no one says that yet, but after a season of free trolley service between Front Street Brewery and the “Shark Tank” every Thursday home game, it may be the latest catch phrase.

The Sharks are teaming up with the Wilmington Trolley Company to provide a free way to get to the park and back. All you have to do is drive, walk, run, whatever, to Front Street Brewery before any Shark’s Thirsty Thursday home game, hop a trolley anytime after 6pm, then catch the same trolley back to the brewery after cheering the Sharks to a win.

As an added bonus the trolley will put you the fan right back in the middle of the action. After each Thursday home game Front Street Brewery will host a post game party where you can meet Sharks coaches and staff and get to know everyone behind the scenes here at the “Shark Tank.”

The first chance to take advantage of this great transportation option is coming up Thursday night May 28th. It’s the Shark’s home opener against the Columbia Blowfish starting at 7 p.m. The trolley will roll between Front Street Brewery and the park all night starting at 6 pm. While at the game enjoy $1 beer and $1 soft drinks. The first 1,000 fans will receive a Sharks magnet schedule presented by Project Assist and QuitlineNC.com.

Also making an appearance at the “Shark Tank” will be Miss USA, Wilmington’s own Kristen Dalton. Ms. Dalton will be throwing out the first pitch and singing the national anthem. There is no word on whether or not she’ll be riding the trolley.

The Wilmington Sharks are members of the summer collegiate Coastal Plain League, the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league. In 2008 the Sharks drew more than 50,000 fans to the "Shark Tank" for an average of 1,650 per game.
