Righty Tyler McSwain faced just 27 batters, allowing a hit and a walk in a complete game shut out as the Sharks fell 2-0 to Peninsula Thursday night.

A brief downpour sent the "Thirsty Thursday" crowd scrambling for cover, as the Sharks were already trailing 2-0 after one and half. McSwain, the UNC-Wilmington Seahawk, sent the Sharks bats to silent mode as he retired the first 18 he faced.

Ryne Harper(Austin Peay) started and took the loss. He gave up a single run in the first two innings and left trailing by the 2-0 final after four frames.

Sean Toler(Missouri State) and Kyle Smith(Central Missouri) held the Pilots down for the final five. Toler threw three scoreless allowing two base hits, striking out five. Meanwhile Smith threw two frames of scoreless ball allowing just a single hit.

The first hit of the night came off the bat of Michael Rooney(UNC-Wilmington) to lead off the seventh. A batter later however, Rooney was caught stealing. Adam Gray (Mercyhurst) walked in the eighth, but was doubled off on a line drive to end the frame as the Sharks could not score.

After a road game in Florence Friday, the Sharks will be back home to face Wilson Saturday night. It's "Alternative Transportation Night" to cap off Green Week. Save fuel, ride the Wave Transit bus to the game. Buses will be running from Independence Mall throughout the game until all the fans are back to their car.
