2004 Wilmington Sharks Schedule Released |

Wilmington The Wilmington Sharks today released the Coastal Plain League`s playing schedule for 2004. The summer collegiate baseball league begins its eighth season of play on June 3rd and closes the regular season on August 4th. Each of the league`s clubs will play a 52-game, split season schedule. An annual highlight of the slate, the CPL`s All-Star game, is set to be played on Tuesday, July 20th at American Legion Field in Florence, South Carolina.
The 12-team circuit consists of three divisions: the North: Edenton, Outer Banks, Peninsula and Petersburg; the South: Fayetteville, Florence, Wilmington and Wilson; and the West: Asheboro, Gastonia, Spartanburg and Thomasville.
The Sharks home opener will be June 3rd at 7:00 vs. The Wilson Tobs.

The Coastal Plain League is one of the nation`s top summer collegiate baseball circuits. The league is sanctioned by the NCAA and Major League Baseball, and features the stars of the ACC and SEC, as well as top area programs. The CPL brings fans all the fun of minor league baseball during a 52 game schedule in June, July and August. The Coastal Plain League has grown over the past 7 years from 6 cities in Eastern North Carolina to 13 teams in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
