Wilmington could not scratch anything across on just five hits as they fell to Fayetteville 7-0 Wednesday night. A three run inning for the SwampDogs put the Sharks behind early and they never recovered. Daniel Cropper(UNC-Wilmington) lasted into the sixth giving up four earned and striking out six. The Sharks put runners on in every inning but the second and fourth but combined to leave eight runners on base in their first shut out loss of the season. With a 1-for-3 night at the plate, Curt Courtwright(Missouri State) provided the only real high points on the night with his glove. He handled four flawless chances, inluding a sliding stop and glove flip behind the second base bag to start a 4-6-3 double play. Four the fourth time this week the Sharks will be back in action at the "Shark Tank" Thursday night. It's another Thirsty Thursday presented by Front Street Brewry. Enjoy dollar beers and dollar soft drinks as the Sharks take on the Edenton Steamers. Gates open at 6 p.m. game starts at 7 p.m. The Wilmington Sharks are members of the summer collegiate Coastal Plain League, the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league. In 2008 the Sharks drew more than 50,000 fans to the “Shark Tank” for an average of 1,650 per game.
