The Sharks managed just seven hits off Wilson pitching and fell 10-1 thanks to a five run Tob 8th inning. Click to listen to a "Shark Bytes" recap.
Eric Callender(Southeastern Louisiana) started and threw well through seven innings of work giving up just three runs on six hits. Moving into the eighth Callender retired the first batter then gave up a walk and a single before giving way to Justice French(Mercer) out of the bullpen. Five runs would come across to secure the Tob lead for good. The Sharks picked up their run thanks to a solo home run off the bat of Bobby Leeper(UNC-Wilmington). The shot to left center made it 3-1, but Wilmington would get no closer. That Leeper's first home run of the season and the first home run at the Shark Tank all year. Callender took the loss, throwing seven and two thirds innings, giving up six hits and four earned runs. His record falls to 2-2. Wilmington heads out on the road for one to take on the Columbia Blowfish Wednesday. The Sharks have a 3-1 record this season against Columbia. |
