WILMINGTON, N.C.--- Per a ruling from the Coastal Plain League Office, the game between the Wilmington Sharks and Outer Banks Daredevils on Saturday, July 17th has now been changed to a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the sixth inning. Originally, it was thought that due to the Sharks and Daredevils not playing again this season, the suspended game was given the score after the fifth inning, which was 2-1 Sharks. Outer Banks scored a run in the top of the sixth inning to tie the game. Wilmington had a runner on second with one out in the bottom of the inning when play was halted for good. The CPL has ruled that if the game has “playoff implications” after the end of the regular season on Monday, August 2, the game will be finished on Tuesday, August 3 at Buck Hardee Field. The Sharks next play on Wednesday, July 21 as they travel to the Faytteville SwampDogs for a divisional contest. Then the two teams meet again on Thursday, July 23 at the Shark Tank on Fat Tony’s and Surf 98.3’s Thirsty Thursday and Coastal Athletics’ Shirt Off Our Back Night. Come out and see why the Shark Tank is the place to be on Thursdays. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. and first pitch is at 7:05 p.m. |
