The Wilmington Sharks look to finish off their three-game road trip with a win tonight against the Florence RedWolves before they return home to the Shark Tank for a three-game home stand Wednesday through Friday nights. The road trip began with a loss on Saturday night when the Columbia Blowfish knocked off the Sharks with a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth on Military Appriciation Night in Columbia. Justyn Carter, Ricardo Lizcano and Jake Mayers each had two hits apiece, with Mayers driving in two RBIs and Lizcano and Daniel Aldrich each adding an RBI. Monday night gave the Sharks a win in a big way, as they tallied a 14-5 win over the Fayetteville Swampdogs in Fayetteville. Aldrich led the offensive attack with three hits, while Lizcano, Kenny Bryant, Aaron Preston and Russ Stupienski all added two hits in the rout. Carter, Mayers, Preston and Scott Coleman each drove home two RBI in the win as well. Mayers also earned the win on the mound for the Sharks, as he tossed five innings and allowed seven hits and had four strikeouts while giving up five earned runs.
