Two hits produced two runs in the second inning for the Sharks Satuday night, but that was the extent of the offense as the final 16 batters went down in order to three Fayetteville pitchers.

With two down Cole Rakar(College of Charleston) singled then stole second. Trevor Willis(Iowa) then lofted a fly ball to center that found the turf and gave the Sharks a 1-0 lead.

The Swampdogs tied things in the 5th off of starter J.C. Casey(Missouri State) and would pick up an unearned run off of Ryan McGrath(Wake Forest) in the ninth to steal the 2-1 win.

Reliever Chris Kennedy(Davidson) threw three strong innings of middle relief holding the Swampdogs to one hit. Casey finished his first CPL start after four and two thirds with six strike outs.

An early double header turned into a late marathon of baseball at the "Shark Tank" Sunday night. In the end the Sharks split two games with the Wilson Tobs, a 3-1 loss in game one and a 3-2 win in game two.

A two hour and forty minute delay kept things from kicking off in the afternoon hours, but once the ball game got started, there was just one more delay.

The Sharks got off to a lead early in both games. After the first three batters reached on two base hits and a walk, Michael Rooney(UNC-Wilmington) came home on a fielders choice off the bat of Greg Bachman(Austin Peay).

The Sharks(2-1) faltered late at Capitol City Stadium Friday night as they fell 10-5 to the Blowfish(1-2). Columbia plated multiple runs in the 6th, 7th and 8th to fight off any Shark rally and send the Wilmington squad to their first defeat.

A three run third inning had the Sharks out in front early. Greg Bachman(Austin Peay) would get things started with a single. After a fielders choice moved him to second, Curt Courtwright(Missouri State) drove him home with an rbi single. Then with one down and runners on second and third Jesse Bosnik(St. Bonaventure) came through with a single to put the Sharks up 2-0. An RBI single by Drew Wingo(Presbyterian) would give the Sharks a three run cushion.

Trailing 6-3, Wilmington looked to bounce back, plating two themselves in the 8th. An RBI double off the bat of Greg Bachman(Austin Peay) pulled the Sharks to within one, but they would come no closer.
