Sharks Battle First-Place Florence at Buck Hardee Field June 22 Print E-mail

The first half of the Coastal Plain League season comes to an end June 28 and the Wilmington Sharks are fighting to secure a playoff berth.  The Sharks battle the first-place Florence RedWolves on Tuesday, June 22 at Buck Hardee Field on Time Warner Cable Two 'Fer Tuesday.  Fans receive two tickets, two hotdogs and two beverages for the price of one, courtesy of Time Warner Cable.  Gates open at 6 p.m.  First pitch is at 7:05.  Come on down to see the Sharks in action!
 
Blowfish Quiet Sharks' Bats Print E-mail

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Columbia Blowfish exploded for four runs in the first inning and the Wilmington Sharks couldn’t make up the deficit as they fell 4-1 on Father’s Day Sunday at Buck Hardee Field

The Blowfish (9-13) started the game hot as Chase Vergason singled and then stole second. Branfy Arias then singled to left-center, scoring Vergason. After Arias reached second on an error by Sharks third baseman Chris Mazza and stole third, David Greene singled to left field, scoring Arias to make it 2-0.

The Wilmington Sharks Announce New Logo Print E-mail

It's safe to say that the theme for the current Sharks offseason can be summed up in one word:  change.  The roster, coaching staff, and the front office have all undergone changes on the wholesale side.  Now, for the first time in five years the Sharks will be rolling out a new logo for 2008.
