The Wilmington Sharks had little to cheer about as they were defeated by the Pilots 8-1.  UNCW outfielder, Grayson Evans, doubled twice while UNCW righthanded pitcher, Bryan Booth threw three scoreless innings.

The Sharks are back in action Friday at New Bern to take on the River Rats.

The Wilmington Sharks will be hosting the first camp in their line-up of youth camps for the 2007 summer.  The camp will feature current Sharks players and coaches.  Please call 910-343-5621 for more information.

The New Bern River Rats broke the 0-0 tie in the bottom of the ninth to help lift the Rats over the Sharks.  Not until 2 outs with a full count in the bottom of the ninth did the Sharks snap the no-hit bid by New Bern's  Chris Gloor.  Jamie Ray's chopper to the third baseman proved to be the Sharks only hit.  Wilmington's Eric McGough threw 6 complete while striking out 6.

Wilmington is back in action tonight against Southern Division rival Fayetteville.  First pitch is set for 7:00.  VCU righthander Cody Eppley will get the start for the Sharks.

The Wilmington Sharks of the Coastal Plain League (CPL) announced they have signed three outfielders to their 2010 roster: Matt Willis, Richie Allen, and Tripp Faulk.

The Wilmington Sharks of the Coastal Plain League (CPL) announced they have signed pitchers Tyler Smith and Justin Bradley, both from the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW).
