Sharks Announce Weekly Promotions for 2009 Season Print E-mail

The Wilmington Sharks have announced a new and exciting weekly promotions schedule for 2009. The Sharks hope that these new promotions will attract a wide variety of fans including moms, dads, kids and more. The weekly promotions for the 2009 Wilmington Sharks season are as follows:

Mother’s Monday presented by North Chase Spalon and Z107.5 FM. Kids Eat Free with paid admission. North Chase Spalon has great treats for mom all night long. Adults- all you can eat for $10.

Time Warner Cable Two for Tuesdays- Two for one tickets and hot dogs.

Family Four Pack presented by Double Q Country 101.3 FM- four tickets, four hot dogs, and four sodas for only $25.

Thirsty Thursday’s presented by Front Street Brewery- $1 beer and $1 sodas. Catch the shuttle from the brewery to the ballpark starting at 6 pm and running all night long courtesy of Wilmington Trolley Company.

Sharks Sign Four Players from Seahawks Print E-mail

The Wilmington Sharks have signed four players from UNC Wilmington to the 2009 roster. Wilmington native, Allen King joins the Sharks, along with Daniel Cropper, Alex Hill, and Mike Rooney.

 

King, a freshman catcher, has appeared in 11 games while starting 7 of those. He is currently hitting .217 with 1 home run and 5 runs batted in while still recovering from arm surgery. King is a graduate of New Hanover High School where he hit .405 with 19 RBI’s in 2007. He also participated in the State Games of North Carolina.

 

Cropper, a sophomore pitcher from Maryland, has appeared in 14 games on the mound and made 9 starts. He is currently 4-2 and second on the team with 52 innings. He has also struck out 48 batters during those 52 innings of work. Was second on the staff with a 3.75 ERA during his freshman season.

Sharks Seeking Families to Host Players Print E-mail

The Wilmington Sharks are seeking host families for the 2009 summer season. Host families are local residents that provide housing for Sharks players during the summer months; providing a room or personal space and one meal per day for a player. In return, the families will receive free season tickets to the Sharks games.

Sharks Sign Six Players from Show Me State Print E-mail

The Wilmington Sharks have signed six players currently playing at colleges located in the state of Missouri to the 2009 roster. Two players, Curt Courtwright, a shortstop, and Sean Toler, a right-handed pitcher, are from Missouri State University. Three others, infielder Andrew Guerra, right-handed pitcher Garrett Cooper and outfielder J.D. Dunn are from St. Louis University. Kyle Smith, a right-handed pitcher from the University of Central Missouri, will also be joining the Sharks.
