The Sharks managed just three runs on six hits as they fell in Fayetteville 4-3 Tuesday night. Some early offense came in the second inning for the Sharks.
Drew Wingo(Presbyterian) led the frame off with a single. A walk to Alex Hill(UNC-Wilmington) put two on for Greg Bachman(Austin-Peay) who slammed a two RBI double to the left centerfield gap to give the Sharks an early 2-0 cusion.
With single runs in the third and fifth, Fayetteville tied the game off of starter Adam Schrader(SW-Minnesota State), but his offense picked him up in the top of the 7th. A bloop hit fell in for Hill to lead off the inning. He moved to second on an infield single then to third on a delayed steal. With Kolby Epley(College of Charleston) batting Hill broke for the plate and scored after Epley laid down a squeeze bunt to put the Sharks up 3-2.

A two run home run off the bat of Andrew Guerra(St. Louis) pulled the Sharks within three runs of the Wilson Tobs, but they would fall 7-4.
A five run fourth doomed the Sharks as the Tobs batted around off of starter Hunter Ford(Campbell) who took the loss. The Sharks answered with an RBI single off of the bat of Alex Hill(UNC-Wilmington) for the second of two runs in the fourth but the bats fell silent until Guerra's 8th inning homer.
Chris Powell(Presbyterian) worked three innings in relief giving up just 2 hits, while Kyle Smith(Central Missouri) and Sean Toler(Missouri State) combined to keep the Tobs off the scoreboard after the 5th.

Pitcher Max Friedman will be in Wilmington to join the Sharks for the summer by the end of the week. But first he had some business to take care of in the form of winning the NJCAA Division II title with his Parkland Community College teammates.
Friedman got the start for the the Cobras in the championship game against the Fighting Artichokes of Scottsdale Community College. The right hander fired eight and one third innings, allowing just three runs, striking out 10 and leaving the Aritchoke heart-broken on thier way back to Airzona.
