An RBI single from Adam Gray(Mercyhurst) gave the Sharks a 2-1 lead and a three run home run from Adam Eggemeyer(SIU-Edwardsville) put the game out of reach as the Sharks beat Florence 8-2.

For the fourth straight night the Sharks tallied double digit hits, racking up 11 in Florence Saturday. Gray led the way with his second straight three hit night. It was a pitchers duel until Eggemeyer found the other side of the right field fence for his first home run of the season. He would end the game 2-5 with the three RBI.

In his first CPL start of the season Max Friedman(Parkland C.C.) picked up his first win, giving up just one run over six innings, scattering five hits. He punched out six Redwolves in his Wilmington debut as the Sharks roll to 5-5.

A complete game from starter J.C. Casey(Missouri State) and 15 hits for the Sharks turned into a 7-1 win for the Sharks over the Columbia Blowfish Friday night.

It was the Sharks bats getting started early with two runs in the first. Singles from Ben Kline(Nebraska), Adam Eggemeyer(SIU-Edwardsville) and Jesse Bosnik(St. Bonaventure) loaded the bases. With two down Greg Bachman(Austin Peay) notched his first of two RBI on the night by working a walk. Adam Gray(Mercyhurst) would then get his big night started with his first of three singles, to drive in the first of his three runs and give the Sharks a 2-0 lead.

While Wilmington would add one in the third, two in the fifth and single runs in the sixth and seventh, two would prove to be enough as Casey cruised through nine.
The Missouri State righty spread three hits and five strike outs over his nine innings. An error opened the door to the end of the shut out in the seventh, but Casey secured the last six outs to pick up his first win of the season.

Runs in the 8th and 9th for the Sharks would not be enough to overcome a four run fourth as they fall to the Tobs by the score of 5-4.

Sharks trailed 1-0 after two but pulled even with a run in the top of the third.  A walk and a single had the Sharks sitting pretty. Then after Adam Gray(Mercyhurst) was thrown out trying to advance on a fly ball, the Sharks picked up a clutch two out double from Andrew Guerra(St. Louis) to score Kolby Epley(College of Charleston) all the way from first.

Aside from the four run fourth the starter Ryne Harper(Austin Peay) held the Tobs to one run through six innings on 10 hits with a strike out in his first loss of the season. Chris Kennedy(Davidson) came on in relief for the seventh and eighth striking out three, facing the minimum.

Cropper Dusts Away Tobs to End Shark Skid Print E-mail

A stellar start from Daniel Cropper(UNC-Wilmington) and a five run third inning was enough to put the Sharks back in the win column as they beat Wilson 7-4.

Cropper allowed just one run and scattered four hits over seven innings of work racking up six strike outs. He bested his last outing by two innings as he picked up his first win of 2009.

The Sharks picked up a single run in the second but did major damage with the lumber in the third. Cole Rakar(College of Charleston) singled to start the inning. After Ben Kline(Nebraska) reached on a fielders choice, Adam Eggemeyer(SIU-Edwardsville) doubled home a run. With Kline and Eggemeyer at second and third Jesse Bosnik(St. Bonaventure) rolled one past the center fielder to plate two more and the route was on.
