Sharks Great in Eight, Win Again Print E-mail

For the second straight night the Sharks scored multiple runs in the eighth inning to put a game away, this time in a 9-4 win over Fayetteville Saturday.

With a run already home and the Sharks leading 7-3 in the eighth, Jesse Bosnik(St. Bonaventure) slammed the door on the Swampdogs with a two RBI triple to bring the Sharks their final two tallies in a nine run onslaught in "the Swamp."

On the Road Again, Sharks Win Again Print E-mail

The Sharks return from their first jaunt into southern Virginia this season with a 6-5 come from behind win over the Martinsville Mustangs.

The western division 'Stangs held a 5-4 edge after seven innings but the Sharks struck for two in the eighth. Kolby Epley(College of Charleston) already with a home run on the night, singled to lead off the frame. Pinch runner Trevor Willis(Iowa) stole second, then swiped third and came home to tie the ball game on a wild pitch.

With Graham Fronk(Campbell) on via the walk, Andrew Guerra(St. Louis) smashed a double to left to bring home the go ahead run.

Casey Twirls a Gem, Sharks Pick Up the Win Print E-mail

For the Second straight outing J.C. Casey did not allow an earned run as he shut out Florence through eight in route to an 8-0 Shark win.

With his exit just an inning shy of a second straight complete game, the Missouri State right hander threw eight innings of one hit ball, stiking out nine while walking four. Presbyterian righty, and Wilmington native, Chris Powell came on to nail down the final three outs.

Seven days ago centerfielder Adam Eggemeyer became designated hitter Adam Eggemeyer. Soreness and pain in his throwing shoulder took him out of the Sharks defensive line-up as he searches for a solution to his arm troubles. But arm troubles seem to be his only troubles.

The tough Steeleville, Illinois native would not let the arm soreness keep him from the line-up completely however. Starting with the very next game after Eggemeyer was pulled from his spot in center field he has been on an offensive tear. Racking up 13 hits in 22 plate appearances, Eggemeyer has bolstered his average to a league high .451 on the season.
