The Wilmington Sharks and Wilson Tobs will observe the Independence Day holiday with a CPL match up tonight at Historic Fleming Stadium.
The Sharks have struggled against the Tobs this season, with only one win against these CPL rivals in the first half. The Wilmington club has yet to find success within the city limits of Wilson, North Carolina, with an 0-3 record at Fleming.
Daniel Cropper is set to toe the rubber for the Sharks. The UNCW right hander will be making his seventh start of the season. So far he is even in 2009 with a 2-2 record, a 2.39 ERA and a team high 47 strike outs in just under 38 innings. Cropper will face lefty Trent Howard for the Tobs.

The Sharks showed fight as they pulled three runs closer, cutting the lead to 5-3 in the third, but that is where the comeback hopes ended.

There will be no crying, for this is baseball and the milk has been spilled, but it is worth noting how close the Sharks last three contests have been.
A southpaw is a left handed pitcher, and the Sharks have four sons of the south in their pen, with one lefty from the state of North Carolina taking the hill tonight.
All of that explained and expounded, in this latest edition of "Shark Bits."
