A mere inning and two thirds of baseball. That's all the Sharks and SwampDogs managed to get in Monday night, as dark and electric skies domed the "Shark Tank."
Ryne Harper(Austin Peay) had retired the first six SwampDogs he faced before lightning forced the initial delay.
A crucial analysis of the weather patterns on Sharks Doppler 7000ii led to the tarp making its way onto the field under a smattering of rain and ever darkening skies until eventually the game was called.

During the week of July 6_ 11, the Wilmington Sharks will be hosting Green Week presented by Tidal Creek Cooperative Market. The Sharks have games scheduled on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday that will be supporting Eco-Friendly behavior.
On Monday, July 6th, we will be hosting “Recycle Your Phonebook Night” presented by the AT&T Real Yellow Pages as the Sharks take on the Fayetteville Swampdogs. The Sharks encourage fans to bring old phonebooks to the park and they will be recycled them. Plus its another “Mother’s Monday,” kids can eat free with paid admission while adults enjoy all you can eat for $10. Also, Mom’s will be receiving great treats all night long courtesy of North Chase Spalon.

Life on the road has been tough on the Wilmington Sharks, but the club has a starter on the up swing going against Fayetteville tonight, and, which may be more, the game is at the "Shark Tank."

For the third time this week the Sharks took a ball game into extras, and for the second time in seven days, dropped the contest, a 2-1 final in Wilson Saturday night.
A lead-off walk and an error in the bottom of the tenth plated the second run of the night for the Tobs. D.J. Nordquist(Southern Polytechnic) takes the loss, his first of the season.
Daniel Cropper(UNC-Wilmington) started for the Sharks. On the night the pride of Snow Hill, Maryland threw eight innings striking out three and allowing just one unearned run.
