Wilmington could not scratch anything across on just five hits as they fell to Fayetteville 7-0 Wednesday night.
A three run inning for the SwampDogs put the Sharks behind early and they never recovered. Daniel Cropper(UNC-Wilmington) lasted into the sixth giving up four earned and striking out six.
The Sharks put runners on in every inning but the second and fourth but combined to leave eight runners on base in their first shut out loss of the season.

Wilmington left 13 men on base as they picked up ten hits in a 9-3 loss to Florence at the "Shark Tank," falling to 9-8 on the season.
The Redwolves took the lead early and never looked back. Five runs came off of starter Adam Schrader(SW Minnesota State) as he suffered his second loss of the season.
Adam Eggemeyer's(SIU Edwardsville) big bat flashed in the third to bring the Sharks within one with a solo homer deep to right. 2-1 would be as close that the Sharks would get on the night.

A three run first stood up behind three Wilmington pitchers as the Sharks defeated the Catawba Valley Stars 6-1 Monday night.
In a salute to the U.S. Army, the Sharks opened up on the visiting Stars when Adam Gray(Mercyhurst) doubled home Christian Overstreet(Missouri State) for the club's first run in the bottom of the first. After Kolby Epley(College of Charleston) brought Gray home with a ground out, Greg Bachman(Austin Peay) singled and scored on a Graham Fronk(Campbell) RBI knock.
Garrett Cooper(St. Louis) started and shut the Stars out through five, surrendering just two hits. Alex Hill(UNC-Wilmington) came on in relief and held Catawba Valley to just a solo home run, while Kyle Smith(Central Missouri) nailed down the win with three outs in the ninth.

In a week where the Sharks offense continued a rise to the top of the CPL charts, the sound of one Wilmington bat cracked with a bit more intensity.
That bat belonged to Adam Eggemeyer.
The lefty from SIU-Edwardsville was rewarded for his efforts by being named the Rawlings Coastal Plain League Hitter of the Week.
During his award winning run, Eggemeyer batted an even .500 picking up 13 hits in all. He notched 25 total bases on the week for a .962 slugging percentage and a .536 on base percentage.
