Held hitless through five innings, the Sharks scored runs in back to back frames but could do no more as they fell to Wilson 5-2 Thursday night at Fleming Stadium.
Wilson touched up starter J.C. Casey(Missouri State) for a run in the first. A bunt single by Bobby Leeper followed by a triple to the right field corner put the Tobs up 1-0. The Tobs picked up two more off of Casey in the second thanks to a three singles an error and a pass ball.

The Sharks are 1-4 against the division rival Wilson Tobs this season, including an 0-2 record in the confines of Historic Fleming Stadium. A site that saw Willie McCovey and Curt Flood roll through, has seen the Sharks score just five runs total in the two games in 2009.
Right handed J.C. Casey will take the hill for the Sharks today as he faces the Tobs in Wilson for the second time in two starts. The Missouri State Bear was touched up for four runs on seven hits through six innings in his start on June 19th. Overall Casey sports a 2-1 record with a 2.51 ERA and is holding opponents to a .194 batting average.

A one run lead was not enough in the ninth inning as the visiting Gastonia Grizzlies tied it at four, then went on to win 5-4 in 12 innings over the Sharks Wednesday night.
Sean Toler(Missouri State) walked the lead man in the ninth and that run came around to score on a wild pitch to send things to the bottom of the ninth. The Sharks had the go ahead run 90 feet away but could not cash it in to send things to the extra frames.
